Across Africa, adolescent girls face persistent challenges:
Early marriage, high adolescent birth rates, lack of access to education, domestic violence, gender based violence and limited digital skills. One in seven girls is married before the age of 14 (and in some regions, three in ten). More than 60% of African women and girls have never received formal digital skills training and an alarming number inherit limiting beliefs about what they can or cannot do.At 10MAG, we are redefining their futures by providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities to unlock their full potential. CEO of JA Africa, 10MAG is a bold initiative uniting ecosystem players to empower young African women aged 13–25.
Through leadership, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and digital skills the 10MAG campaign is set to touch the lives of 10 million African girls. The vision is to equip 10 million girls to build thriving, sustainable communities by 2050 in turn eliminating extreme poverty and gender-based violence because we believe that when one girl rises, the community follows, when one girl gets her voice to speak, the community echoes in turn.
